The Trip Home

Today was our last day in Atlanta. The four days went so fast! We're back home now safely in Truro.

We went to church at Northpoint with Alan & Liz this morning. Slightly larger than Crossroads.

Before we left for the airport, I talked Liz into singing for me - a song I always loved seeing/hearing her play. A real treat for me to have it on tape.

I included a picture below of some "kudzu" (not the small green guy from Flintstones). It's a parasitic vine that grows in/on trees and other plants. Sometimes you can see nothing but this vine when you look at the trees - they're completely covered. The kudzu is very pretty, but unchecked, it eventually kills the tree. There's a sermon illustration in that somewhere.

Barb got one last antique store in before the airport - and was successful.

Many thanks to Alan & Liz for their graceous hospitality. Any time you guys move to a new city and need to practice your tour-guide skills - we're "dope" with being the guinea pigs! Bless their lil hearts!

A Day Downtown

Gee.. where do I start - today was so busy and so much fun.

In the morning we toured the CNN world headquarters in downtown Atlanta. It was quite interesting.

We had lunch with Craig & Sonia (and family) - which was a lot of fun. I'm missing Lauren & Rachel, so it was great to see their children playing.

After lunch, we walked around Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta.

In the afternoon (you guessed it), we did a little shopping in the Perimeter Mall. Very nice mall.

This evening, we went to the "Cheesecake Factory" for dinner - very yummy.

There's a lot more pictures to post and stories to tell - I'll try to get some on tomorrow. Hard to believe we fly back tomorrow!

Friday - North of Atlanta

Today had some shopping and sight-seeing and visiting.. pretty action-packed!

If there are factory outlets anywhere in a 200 mile radius, we seem to be able to find them! Thus, a few hours this morning were spent at the North Georgia Premium Outlets. I think I bought more than any one else - so I'm not going to complain.

After shopping we took our picnic lunch to Amicalola State Park - and had a great view while we ate. Liz packs a great lunch! There were some very nice waterfalls - and we drove to the top - just in time for the sky to open and four rain. It was over quickly however, so we were still able to walk around some and take in the sites.

We saw/stopped in some nice towns as we drove around - Dahlonega was pretty, and Barb was able to find an antique place in Gainesville. Ask Alan why he's able to "smell dead people"!!

Tomorrow I think we are seeing downtown Atlanta.
